MoraBanc will hold the AI + Finance Hackathon on 7 and 8 November, an initiative open to people from a wide range of backgrounds, with the challenge of creating innovative solutions that help improve people’s financial lives by using artificial intelligence as a working tool. The hackathon will take place over a day and a half at Hive Five in Andorra la Vella. AWS will participate as the technology partner, providing cloud infrastructure and AI models, while Hive Five will act as the logistics partner.

The aim is to develop ideas that help people better understand their finances, make more informed decisions or address the needs of individuals, self-employed professionals and small businesses. AI may be used to conceive, develop and implement the proposals, without the solutions necessarily having to be artificial intelligence products themselves.

To encourage participation and strengthen the educational aspect of the project, AWS will hold a free online technical session so that teams can learn about AWS’s technological capabilities and use them during the Hackathon.

Areas of inspiration include financial planning and education, managing key life events, the needs of self-employed professionals and small businesses, and the prevention of fraud and scams. Participants will also be able to propose other solutions aimed at end users.

Participation is open to anyone over the age of 18, regardless of their professional or academic background, either individually or as part of a team. Multidisciplinary teams will be particularly encouraged. Participants will be required to develop a functional prototype and present it to a jury, which will assess the presentation, feasibility, potential impact and its ability to become a real-world solution.

€7,000 in prizes

The hackathon will award €4,000 to the first-place winner, €2,000 to the second-place winner and €1,000 to the third-place winner. AWS may supplement the prizes with electronic devices and credits to use its services. Through this initiative, MoraBanc aims to foster a co-creation environment that brings together talent, technology and financial expertise to address people’s real needs. Prior registration will be required, and details of the registration process and programme will be announced through MoraBanc’s official channels.
