MoraBanc Joins the Reviu Program

The Comú of Andorra la Vella and MoraBanc have signed a collaboration agreement to provide financing, under preferential conditions, for the renovation of homes incorporated into the Reviu program, which aims to recover vacant apartments and allocate them to the public rental market at affordable prices.

The agreement, signed by the cònsol major, Sergi González, and MoraBanc’s General Manager of Andorra Business, Xavier Riestra, establishes the foundations of this public-private partnership, whose goal is to facilitate access to housing.

MoraBanc is the first financial institution to join the Reviu program of the Comú of Andorra la Vella. The collaboration between the two entities will make it possible to offer loans at an interest rate of 12-month Euribor + 0.5%, reviewed annually, and with a Comú guarantee that may cover up to 100% of the financed amount. For its part, the municipal corporation maintains its direct contribution of up to 30% of renovation costs —according to the limits set by the program— and will take charge of the full management of the rentals, ensuring monthly payments to property owners and maintenance of the units throughout the assignment period.

Property owners may choose, if they wish, to receive rental income in advance in five-year periods, with the corresponding amount pledged as collateral for the loan repayment. The agreement also stipulates that the Comú will subsidize municipal taxes linked to the properties in the program and will manage, if necessary, habitability certificates and follow-up of renovation works.

The cònsol major highlighted the importance of involving the private sector in programs promoting affordable housing and emphasized that this agreement strengthens the Comú’s capacity to mobilize vacant apartments and expand the rental offering with guarantees for both property owners and future tenants.

For his part, Xavier Riestra underscored MoraBanc’s commitment to a project that creates value and opens up new opportunities for access to housing — a matter that society demands and requires effective solutions for.
