The Andorra la Vella Town Council approves the bank’s participation, with a €25,000 contribution towards transforming this urban space
The Andorra la Vella Town Council has approved MoraBanc’s participation in the Green Initiative Programme (PIV), with a contribution of €25,000 towards the greening of Aigüeta and Europa passages. This new public-private partnership will help drive forward the transformation of this urban space, with the aim of increasing greenery in the capital and contributing to a greener, more pleasant and healthier environment for residents.
The Governing Board has approved the application submitted by Mora Banc Grup SA to participate in funding the project, which has an overall budget of €100,000. The bank’s contribution represents 25% of the total cost of the project and falls under the Bronze sponsorship category established in the programme’s regulatory framework.
The project at Aigüeta and Europa passages forms part of the Town Council’s strategy to introduce more greenery into developed urban areas and move towards a more sustainable parish. This initiative is part of the overall renovation and enhancement project for both passages promoted by the Town Council, with the aim of revitalising these spaces and making them more attractive, welcoming and pleasant for residents. In this context, the greening initiative will help improve the landscape quality of both pedestrian thoroughfares and create a healthier urban environment.
MoraBanc is the third company to join the Green Initiative Programme. With its participation, the approved contributions now amount to a total of €120,000, allocated to environmental improvement projects across the parish.
The Mayor of Andorra la Vella, Sergi González, highlighted «the importance of continuing to bring local businesses into this initiative», which makes it possible to pool efforts to transform public spaces. In this regard, he stressed that the Green Initiative Programme reflects the Town Council’s commitment to building partnerships with the business community so that sustainability translates into tangible and visible actions that benefit the entire community.
Mireia Maestre, MoraBanc’s Director of ESG and Institutional Relations, highlighted the bank’s commitment to supporting projects that bring value to Andorran society, as well as its willingness to collaborate with public institutions. «In this case, improving these spaces will benefit the parish and the country, as well as everyone who lives and works in this area», she emphasised.
