MoraBanc, Banc de l’Any 2025 a Andorra

2025-12-04

MoraBanc has been named Bank of the Year 2025 in Andorra by the prestigious international Bank of the Year Awards, presented annually by The Banker magazine, part of the Financial Times Group. The award recognizes excellence in the bank’s business model, its ability to generate sustained growth, and the success of its international expansion strategy. MoraBanc’s CEO, Lluís Alsina, accepted the award last night at a gala held in London, attended by representatives from leading banks around the world.

The jury of The Banker particularly highlighted MoraBanc’s leadership, noting the bank’s ability to anticipate market needs, becoming the first in the country to offer several distinctive products and services. In the field of private banking, the jury pointed to its pioneering investment offering in private equity, private credit and debt, digital assets, co-investment projects, financial planning, and ESG investments. MoraBanc was also the first bank in Andorra to offer payment systems such as Google Pay and BIZUM for businesses.

Beyond being a benchmark in products and services, the international expansion of the MoraBanc Group was another strong reason for being named Bank of the Year. The recent acquisition of Banco Europeo de Finanzas, marking its entry into the Spanish banking market, and the integration of Tressis into the Group have positioned MoraBanc as a standout player in Spanish private banking, with significant growth potential.

The figures also support MoraBanc’s leadership

The Bank of the Year award in Andorra arrives after an extraordinary 2024, during which MoraBanc achieved 67% growth in assets under management, reaching €18.436 billion —the highest figure in its history— and a 12% increase in profit, reaching €57.7 million.

The MoraBanc Group has grown in size but also in strength, with a CET1 solvency ratio of 19.5% as of December 31, 2024 —once again the highest in Andorra— and high profitability, with a ROE of 15.04%, also the highest in the country.

The positive trend of sustained growth and its distinctive offering were also decisive in earning another internationally recognized award just weeks ago, when Citywire named MoraBanc Best Private Bank in Andorra.

With this distinction, MoraBanc strengthens its position as the most dynamic and innovative bank in the country, capable of growing more and faster than its competitors while maintaining the highest standards of solvency, profitability, and digitalization.

Joan Maria Nin, Chairman of MoraBanc

“This recognition not only validates last year’s excellent results, but also MoraBanc’s ability to compete successfully in increasingly demanding markets. It is an achievement that reflects the commitment of our teams and the trust of our clients, and it reinforces our leadership as a benchmark institution in the country.”

Lluís Alsina, CEO of MoraBanc

“This award reflects a clear strategy: to grow, diversify, and innovate. Our acquisitions in Spain, our digital leadership—while remaining a human banking institution—and our commitment to alternative and sustainable assets have positioned MoraBanc in a privileged place. We will continue to move forward with determination to offer the best financial experience to our clients.”
