MoraBanc adapts its cards for blind and visually impaired customers

2025-07-14

MoraBanc is moving accessibility forward by offering new credit and debit cards that feature Braille markings to identify the product type (credit or debit) simply and securely. This initiative, available on request at no extra cost, is designed to boost the autonomy of blind and low-vision customers.

The bank also issues an auxiliary plastic card on which the online-transaction details appear in Braille and in larger, high-contrast print. This allows users to shop online or check their card information without relying on third parties, strengthening their security, privacy and independence.

Key benefits of the new accessible card

  • Autonomy: blind and low-vision customers can use the card independently in both physical and online purchases.
  • Enhanced security: Braille data and larger, high-contrast characters eliminate the need to share sensitive information with others.
  • No additional cost: the accessible card offers the same functions and fees as other MoraBanc cards.
  • Immediate availability: any client who needs it can request the card from their account manager or at any MoraBanc branch.

MoraBanc has shared this initiative with leading associations that support blind or visually impaired people. Mireia Maestre, the bank’s ESG director, notes that “this card adaptation is another step in our commitment to inclusive solutions and to ensuring an equitable banking experience for everyone.”
