Casa Vicens, the first house designed by Antoni Gaudí, announces a change in its senior management. Daniel Martínez will take over as General Director of the institution on 1 January 2027, succeeding Emili Masferrer, who will remain in his position until 31 December 2026 and support the incoming General Director during the transition.

Daniel Martínez joins from the MoraBanc Group, which has owned Casa Vicens since 2014. Over the past six years, he has held various positions of responsibility in marketing, digital transformation and business development. Previously, he developed his career in the consumer goods and retail sectors, working for companies such as Caprabo and Grupo CCA Andorra. His appointment will strengthen the Casa Vicens brand, with a clear focus on continuing to offer an excellent visitor experience at this UNESCO World Heritage Site.

“I would like to thank Emili for his work and for the generosity with which we have prepared this transition, as well as for supporting me until the end of the year,” says Daniel Martínez. “Casa Vicens has a solid project and an excellent team. My goal is to build on this foundation and bring it even closer to audiences, both locally and internationally.”

9 YEARS THAT HAVE ESTABLISHED CASA VICENS AS A LEADING CULTURAL LANDMARK

Under Emili Masferrer’s leadership, Casa Vicens has established itself as a leading cultural institution in Barcelona, reached 300,000 visitors and become an example of private, sustainable and independent management of architectural heritage.

On behalf of the Board of Directors of Casa Vicens Gaudí, its Chairman, Lluís Alsina, highlighted Emili’s contribution over the years. “Thanks to his leadership and the team’s commitment, Casa Vicens has become a leading museum in Barcelona and an example of cultural management. We are also grateful that we can count on him during this transition process, which he will carry out alongside Daniel Martínez, in whom we have full confidence to lead the next chapter of Casa Vicens.”

For Emili Masferrer, “it has been a privilege to lead Casa Vicens over these years and help the project grow. I am deeply grateful to the Gràcia neighbourhood, the people of Barcelona and my professional colleagues for the way they have welcomed Casa Vicens.” The outgoing director explained that “once I decided to bring this chapter to a close, the priority was to prepare the transition well in advance and in an orderly manner. To this end, I will continue working alongside Daniel and the team until the end of the year. I am convinced that he is the right person to carry this project forward.”
