Atlas of Shadows, by Albert Ginesta, was awarded the MoraBanc Prize for Short Stories and Narratives at the 47th edition of the Literary Night, held at Unnic. With this distinction, Ginesta adds his fourth MoraBanc award, having previously won in 2010 with It’s Strange!, in 2018 with And Real, and in 2023 with Unconfessable.
Atlas of Shadows is a collection of 12 short stories connected by a common thread and which, according to the author, focus on characters who are usually left out of the picture—“those who come in second, or who never quite make it.”
Albert Ginesta was born in Barcelona but settled in Andorra more than 40 years ago. In 2005 he published Project 8, the first of his seven published works. In addition to his role as a writer, Ginesta is also a musician and composer, and is currently a member of the group Odara Trío.
The Nit Literària organized by the Cercle de les Arts i de les Lletres, is one of MoraBanc’s long-standing collaborations, which the bank has supported for decades. The bank currently lends its name to the Short Stories and Narratives Prize, contributes financially, and oversees the publication of the winning work.
