A total of 50 young people took part in MoraBanc’s first Banking Hackathon, a new initiative introduced this year as part of the MoraBanc Talent Experience programme. The event brought together university students and young professionals in a collaborative working environment to develop innovative ideas addressing real challenges facing the banking business.
During the first part of the session, participants worked in multidisciplinary teams, supported by MoraBanc professionals acting as mentors, to develop proposals addressing a range of the bank’s strategic challenges. These included improving the onboarding processes for both customers and employees, applying artificial intelligence to simplify processes and increase productivity, developing new initiatives to attract and retain customers, and creating proposals to promote financial literacy.
The event concluded with the presentation of the projects to MoraBanc’s Executive Committee, represented by Xavier Riestra, Director of Business – Andorra; Gerard Albà, Corporate Director of Strategy, Transformation and Innovation; and Wiro Martin, Director of Marketing and Communications.
MoraBanc Talent Experience is the bank’s summer internship programme, which it has been running for more than forty years. Every summer, it offers young people in Andorra the opportunity to complement their academic studies with hands-on professional experience related to their field of study while gaining first-hand insight into how a financial institution operates.
For MoraBanc, the programme is also a strategic tool for identifying and recruiting new talent. In recent years, several participants in the Talent Experience programme have gone on to join the bank as permanent employees, reinforcing MoraBanc’s commitment to providing young people with an environment in which they can grow professionally and build a long-term career.
